7/4/13
Independence Day!  We had a potluck party (poolside)...ok...it's only a baby pool but we cooled the feet.  The pool was courtesy of Linda, Eddy, Cindy and Mike.

Jeff and Eddy cooked great chicken and burgers on the newly purchased grill (thanks, Jeff).

The 9:30 pm fireworks were shot from the nearby bridge.  We were so close that we had to lie back in our chairs to see them. Nearby, we kept a water bucket in case of any fireworks fallout.

Finally found a reasonably priced place for a haircut, which turned out to be the best haircut on the loop so far....it was in one of those WalMart salons.  Since we had a 3 day car rental, we decided to drive to Shady Harbor Marina (our next stop) to look the place over and have lunch.

When we returned, we were scheduled to have a "leftovers potluck" but Jeff Stern surprised us with beef tenderloin cooked on the grill...FABULOUS!

The temp hit 100 today so we opted for a movie, appropriately titled,The Heat. The whole group decided to go to dinner at Armadillo, a great restaurant a few blocks off of the main street in town.  Food fabulous, company outstanding! After dinner we all went to Jeff's boat.  I took the dulcimer and we sang the two looper songs I wrote.  Nicole videotaped us and she plans to put it on youtube.  We could be famous...possibly your next "Justin Bieber".

We are so sad...Eddy and Linda left.

Before they departed, we had a "passing of the bathroom key" ceremony and a presentation to Ron, the museum volunteer who adopted all of us.

The remainder of the loopers had a "last supper" at Armadillo, our new favorite restaurant.

7/8/11
The Battered Bull, (150 feet long), pulled out 1/2 hour before we departed.

Check out the link above to get details on this $20 million yacht.

Jeanne/Kenny (Daybreak),

Cindy/Mike (Aurora) and Ron/Jan (Adagio) finally left Kingston this morning.  Cindy and Mike planned to anchor out, while the rest of us ended up at Shady Harbor, a very nice marina with a great covered patio, grills, pool, showers and ship store.

  1. Safe trip on the Champlain route. So sorry about the Erie Canal. I was very curious about it when the old dear was revamped. Are you going via Ontario-Erie-Michigan (Welland Canal bypassing Niagara) or Ontario-Huron-Georgian Bay?
