9/7/2024: A number of classmates took a 2 hour tour of PCHS led by Assistant Superintendent, Sheila. For those who hadn't seen the school since graduation in 1964, it was quite a shock. The school has 50% of the students eligible for free lunch and the Dragons Closet where students at any time can get new clothing, shoes, accessories food, etc., all donated and organized by Special Ed staff and students. All students at PCHS get a free lunch! The area where we had rows of lockers in '64 is now a lounge area. Each student is issued a laptop and carries a bookbag and a notebook. That's it. No lockers needed. Security is everywhere, from locked doors, cameras everywhere, 2 armed guards and other security personnel.
We started this blog to document our Great Loop adventure. We continued to cruise on Adagio, but in 2018 we purchased a Roadtrek Sprinter Class B RV, named Adagietto. We then purchased an Advanced RV Sprinter named Rocky, which we later traded in for Poppy. It was also from Advanced RV, but was a new design, something they called a B-Box

Much has been rearranged and renovated in the last few years. PE facilities are amazing: a pool, an indoor golf simulator, a gigantic weight room and more! I was employed at PCHS for 24 years as a part of the Career and Technical Education Dept (CTE)but it has evolved, too. In the past, students who were not strong academically were sent to CTE. Now every student has at least one CTE course during his/her 4 years. And jobs after high school are readily available for those in CTE programs. Steve Huey from our class taught Graphic Communications and later became CTE dept chair and now after retiring 10 years ago is on the school board. There were many photos, trophies and memorabilia from our class around the school. If you don't have a yearbook, you can access any graduating class and see your complete yearbook. (PS, these are created by prisoners who apparently no longer do license plates.)
