St. Anne de Bellevue Canal Wall

We joined Kenny and Jeanne for breakfast.  We then stopped by the local farmers’ market for produce and homemade bread.  The guys went to the grocery store while Jeanne and I got overdue haircuts.  The salon, Passion, was recommended by Ann Adams on Charis.  Great haircuts, but mine is very short!
We also went shopping at a local upscale department store and I bought a new blouse.

We decided to attend Saturday evening rather than Sunday church.

Ron asked two young people for directions to the Catholic Church, but they had no idea how to find it.  In reality, it was only two blocks away. This seemed to affirm previous information about the disinterest in religion by the young people of Quebec.   St. Anne’s Catholic Church was built in 1703 and was beautiful inside.

There were fewer than 70 people in attendance and this was a very large church which probably accommodated 500 or more.  We were able to follow along by reading the missal (French), but we were lost in the homily.  During his sermon, a train passed close by and the whole service stopped until the train was gone.  Someone even got up to close the side door, but this didn’t seem to help.

Although we had planned to leave tomorrow (Sunday), we are staying until at least Monday so that Kenny can get some gel coat work done on the hull.  If it is done early enough, we will leave here Monday.  Otherwise it may be Tuesday morning.
