            6/9/2024

We were second in line for the ferry, which guaranteed us a spot on the 8:45.  It was perfect timing for mass at St. Michael's, where they were having a shrimp festival! (The priest grew up in Chicago.

       6/10/2024:

Once in New Orleans, we parked at the Visitors' Center and purchased hop-on/hop-off tickets.  $45 per person for one day OR $51 per person for two days, so of course we opted for two days.  It is very hot here, but we sat on the upper deck to get good pics on our first ride around town.

We decided to find a place close to where we are parked for the night (Visitors' Center parking $20 for $24 hours).  There are MANY bars, but not a lot of desirable restaurants near us. We settled for a place called Schooners which was really a bar with a few menu items.  Wouldn't recommend it.

When we got back to the RV we started hearing a knocking in the RV.  Ron explored and decided it was the AC.  It would knock, knock, knock, knock, knock and then stop.  So of course we had to turn off the AC.  Temps were in the 80s an muggy.  Then we had a knock on the door....a homeless guy wanted to know if we had any spare gasoline.  Ron told him no and he never came back.  Well, it was interesting to go back to pre-AC days of our youth.  I remembered that you could douse your head with water and it would cool you off.  It helped!

Contacted Advanced RV this morning and told them we need a new compressor.  They are trying to find a local shop that could do the work.
