        6/14 through 6/16, 2024

6/14:  We said goodbye to Susan and Bob (Britches) and Mike (Imagine).  When you have service work done at A-RV, you spend a a lot of time together in the lounge.  (Each day you are there, lunch is provided---ordered from various restaurants).  So farewell to new friends!

We made it to Watseka, IL for the night.  If you are from the Midwest, tenderloin sandwiches are a big deal.  We found them at Watseka Table Restaurant.  These bun-sized (not oversized) sandwiches were good.  Our spot for the night was a Walmart parking lot near the train tracks.  We were the only RV,  but there were many semis.

6/15:  Since we were passing through my hometown of Pekin, we decided to visit family graves, first in Henry and then in Pekin.  It had been three years since Ron and I had visited their together.  (Ron had flown in for a funeral earlier this year).  Of course I had to get my fix of Avanti's bread.  We had a meal there and then bought 3 loaves to go.  We attended our former parish in Morton, Blessed Sacrament.  Didn't recognize a soul there, but is was a different service time than what we usually attended.

Does it sound as if food is our passion?

6/16:  It was a long drive to Graham Cave State Park, MO.  We took the ferry across the Illinois River (Kampsville Ferry) and a second across the Mississippi River (Golden Eagle).  We opted for a campground with electric since the temp was 99.  Tomorrow we head for the Truman Presidential Library.

Notice the front wheels on Poppy.  They are off the
ground due to the stabilizers.

Duke loves campgrounds!
