7/11/2024

7/11/2024 Today was a short travel day. We stopped in Carcross, Yukon at lunchtime and walked around town. Water at the campsites has not been potable, so we went to the water treatment plant (small building) in town and hooked up our hose. Ask Ron if he hooked it up to the fire hose connection! Lots of tour busses pulled in to town (about a half day's ride from Skagway).  A few miles out of Carcross is our campground for the night (Conrad Campground).  There are no hookups at these Yukon Provincial Parks.  $20 Canadian for a place to park.  Daytime temps 59 and very windy.  Wind continued throughout the night with temps in the 40s.
Gorgeous scenery with telephone poles (signs of civilization).
